The chart below shows the standard Axle configurations available on the new Atego. As well as being available in both left and right hand drive, these configurations are available in different variants from 7.5t up to 16t. Some examples of variants include:
In addition, our Custom Tailored Trucks (CTT) service can provide vehicles to special order in even more configurations to suit your application precisely.
With its completely redesigned chassis, the new Mercedes-Benz Atego manages to reconcile two apparently contradictory aims: exceptional ride comfort and precise handling, whatever the vehicle load.
The Z-profile front section provides maximum space and stiffness in the engine bay, along with a lower mounted cab. This improves cab access, and coupled with the
C-profile frame side rail behind the cab, provides for maximum strength with minimum weight.
The excellent body-mounting ability of the previous models remains a feature of the new Atego. The new Atego can look forward to a long and successful career with variants such as a six-seat crew cab, a carrier vehicle for a road sweeping machine or a firefighting vehicle chassis. A total of 15 different wheelbase lengths, ranging from 3020 mm to 6260 mm, provide plenty of scope for a wide variety of bodybuilder solutions. A lightweight tractor unit is also part of the model range for the new Atego.
All on-road new Atego models are factory fitted with side underrun guards to further reduce time and costs for the bodybuilder, and guarantee a high quality finish.
Whether specified with air or steel suspension, the new Atego is designed for a smooth ride and minimum weight. 2-bag air suspension provides the means to level the vehicle, at a loading bay for example, alternatively parabolic springs – in many cases single leaf – provide excellent load handling. Extra high-load anti-roll bars are available as an option for vehicles with a high centre of gravity and to reduce body roll.
